Wikipedia ... Wikipedia
During my studies for the CSS I came across an interesting online encyclopaedia. Wikipedia. It had articles on too many things but they all lacked a lot of depth. Then suddenly I saw a link and after a little research I learnt that anyone can make changes to the articles on the encyclopaedia.

Then I learnt that different language versions exist. Then I learnt that anyone can edit any of the articles in any of the languages.

I started the Urdu Wikipedia on the 4th of March 2004. Since then the Urdu Wikipedia has grown to just over 100 articles. Most of them are translations of articles from the English version. But even so it is an effort. Initially I was workign alone but lately 2-3 other people have also joined up. The speed with which information is being added to the Urdu wikipedia is growing.

I guess the reason of this post would be to help us in the work on the Urdu Wikipedia. One of the very few websites in Urdu on the net that uses text rather than pictures for all forms of typing.

Over there we use the Tahoma font since there is no other font that can support the Urdu text properly. اس فانٹ کی ايک مثال يہ ہے۔.
